Portland Man Unaccounted for After Arizona Retreat

By Samuel Park

Family and friends are searching for answers after David Price, 27, failed to return from a desert retreat held by the self-improvement group MaximizeMe.

The gathering, which took place outside Chandler, Arizona, ended abruptly last week. Participants have since dispersed, and attempts to reach any official representatives have been unsuccessful. No current mailing address or direct contact for MaximizeMe has been located.

Witnesses provide conflicting reports. Some claim Price "wandered off" during a group exercise. Others recall him acting "quiet, but normal" the evening before the retreat ended. No formal missing persons report was filed by organizers.

MaximizeMe, which describes itself as a "journey toward essentiality," has offered little comment. An unsigned message posted briefly on a now-removed webpage read: "Some must choose their own way. We wish him clarity." The website hosting the statement has since gone offline.

Authorities in Chandler are urging caution as they continue to gather information. "There's no clear indication of foul play," said Sgt. Marc Devereaux. "At this point, we can't rule anything out, including voluntary disappearance."

Family members are frustrated by the lack of communication. "We just want to know if he's safe," said Marcia Price, David’s mother. "Nobody seems to have any real answers. It’s like he just... stopped existing."

Unconfirmed reports suggest other attendees have also not returned home or resumed normal life since the retreat's conclusion. The number of potentially missing individuals remains unclear.

David Price is described as 5'10", 160 pounds, brown hair, hazel eyes, with a phoenix tattoo on his left forearm. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chandler Police Department.
